LAME REVIEW OF A GOOD ALBUM..
OK..
So..I finally got Anodyne, Uncle Tupelo's last album (takes awhile for stuff to make it this far into the heart of the continent..like 10 years). Actually, I have to say, I'm glad I waited until now to get it. Because this version (released in March 2003) has 4 extra songs. 3 of which are covers (in addition to the cover of Give Back the Key to My Heart(Doug Sahm) - (Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way?, Truck Drivin' Man, and Suzy Q). Well, those covers are worth the price of admission. Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way? is probably the best cover (of many) that I've heard of that song. Almost as good as 'The Balladeer' himiself. And Suzy Q is dang good, too. Not the same as CCR, of course, but quite good.
Doug Sahm (Texas Tornados, Sir Douglas Quintet) guests on a cover of one of his songs Give Back the Key to My Heart. And the rest of the album is pretty solid. I recommend it, if you like Americana (whatever that means), Alt-Country (whatever that means), or my favorite genre, 'Good Music.' I would agree with those who call it timeless, much like Wilco's A.M. or Being There.
BTW, for those of you who aren't hip, Uncle Tupelo is the band that underwent fission to form Son Volt (Farrar) and Wilco (Tweedy, etc.).
Also BTW, do any of you current Beatricians know anything of a band named Phlox Parallax? Their bio on mp3.com says they're from Beatrice..Never heard of the guys in the band. Cool name, though.

We can only hope Al Qaeda doesn't have access to the same mail-order catalogs as this guy does.

SORRY 'BOUT THE LAST POST
It was an error.
Say, anybody know any good, free music mixing/editing/production software? I'm looking for something where I can sample from various .wav or mp3 files and stuff to create one audio track..
