PITCHERS..

Man. I'm struggling to work up the attention span necessary to somehow post 550 (or at least 300-some) photos from our Europe trip. There are several website hosting services out there that might work, but I'm too lazy to wade through them all to find one that doesn't have some stupid, lame, static, pre-set format, and also has enough room for all the images (up to 200 MB). Until then, I may just share, as I get a chance, some of my more favorite images:

I took this out the train window as we wound along the northern edge of Lake Geneva (a very large lake) in Switzerland. It is impossible to overstate how beautiful that particular place was. This image is nice, but be aware that it doesn't do justice to the beauty of the area..

Left to right: Jen, Me, Shelby's host mom (Maria), Shelby's host uncle (Iwan), Shelby's host dad (Andre), and Shelby's host aunt (Lena). We were tipping back the first pouring of a batch of 7-year old cognac they'd had made from their own grapes. Our 5 days with this generous and welcoming family were 5 of the best days we spent in Europe, or anywhere, for that matter. By the way, tradition requires that a brief toast is made prior to one slugging down the hard stuff in a single shot, whereupon one sets their glass down on the table and finds it immediately full again.

This was taken at the top of the Aiguille du Midi, a 9,000' high cable-car ride above the town of Chamonix, in the French Alps. The views from this vantage, into the Swiss and Italian Alps, are among the most amazing I've ever seen. We had planned to take another cable car across a glacier field, and then another down into Italy, but the one across the glacier field was still closed for the winter. For the record, it was frickin' cold up there.

Comments:
You want to know what's harder than finding a decent web/photo hosting service? How about a decent online *review* of photo hosting sites? Theoretically, someone else has done the hard work of culling the top 5 or 10 services...

When I first saw toptenreviews.com, I thought "perfect, this is exactly the kind of service we need on the web. Then I noticed that all of the software had purchase links directly from the site. I wonder if payment is received to edge a particular software up a few notches.

Then again, I did "try" the number 1 software listed for registry cleaning (http://registry-repair-software-review.toptenreviews.com/). In fact, the ASO software worked so well that I am considering a purchase (my 30 days lapsed).

This web site did not mention any photo hosting sites, in case you already tried to look. I think that is because most of them are "free." BTW, I guess if I chose one of them and uploaded 550 images, I would spend $3-5 to have them make a few photo prints. That way, they think you are a real customer and would be more inclined to keep the other 547 images, hoping you would buy more "services later."

Here is a LOUSY review of photo hosting site:
http://personalweb.about.com/od/photohosting/tp/photohosttop.htm

It is lousy because it doesn't really compare or rate them. You still have to do all of the work...
